Briarfell Farm
Hill farm above Wensleydale, in the family since 1931. Swaledale ewes on the tops, sucklers on the in-bye, and hay meadows we cut late for the curlews. We sell lamb boxes straight from our own freezer — the same lamb we eat ourselves.

tour· year-round· 90 minsGuided farm walk & cream tea
Ninety minutes round the in-bye fields and the lambing barn with Tom — the actual daily rounds, not a performance. Meet the Swaledales, learn what a hay meadow does all summer, ask anything (including about the prices). Finishes with a proper cream tea in the old barn. Small groups, all weathers except the truly biblical, dogs on leads welcome.

tour· spring· 150 minsLambing Live — open morning at Briarfell
Spend a working morning in our lambing barn: see new lambs (almost guaranteed in April), learn what a shepherd actually watches for, and if timing favours us, witness a birth. Wellies essential, small children very welcome, hot tea and homemade cake included. Numbers strictly limited so it stays a farm, not a show.

LAMB BOXES — nine of twelve gone already. Half-lamb boxes from our own hill flock, butchered and frozen: two legs, shoulder, chops, rack, mince, shanks. £95, collection or local delivery. Next batch won't be until after the autumn draft, so if your freezer has been dropping hints, now is the moment. Listing in the marketplace.
